Gary Vaynerchuk said something about the worst thing you can do in business is to be romantic about how you make your money. But show me a photographer who doesn't love taking pictures. In fact I just wrote two rather emotional posts myself about professional photography. So I thought I'd set out the unromantic business reasons to sell products. Not how to sell or what to sell, but why. And yes, we make the products, so of course we’d love you to sell them, but this is what's in it for you. We call them the three Ps. 1. You benefit from the sale of the To View More >>

Evocative, adjective: bringing strong images, memories, or feelings to mind. When we released our Vintage leathers last month they clearly struck a chord. Were we surprised? Not really, because when we first saw them we fell in love. And to Heather, in particular, they felt like a return to our beginnings. So ... what’s to love? The beautiful colours first caught our eye, but beyond that, they evoke such powerful feelings of nature, authenticity and, for Heather, who's our founder, memories. Natural because of their earthy tones, evocative To View More >>

This week's 'Album of the Week' goes to Ian and Emma from Ian Scott Photography. "We had the pleasure of meeting with Sarah and Ben several times before the wedding day," Emma says. "First at their pre-wedding shoot, then at the studio for newborn photographs of their baby daughter. They were so chilled out we knew we would have a great day capturing their wedding." The album is a 14x10 Fine Art Flushmount with a Sahara Faux Leather cover. "Their wedding venue, Offley Place, is a beautiful country house hotel in Great Offley. A picturesque setting for a wedding To View More >>

I run the Queensberry Bindery - never say "factory"! It’s a great privilege, and we do enjoy watching visitors gasp and smile at how much handwork and care goes into making a Queensberry. So this week, as we release our new packaging, I thought I'd show you how even our presentation box is a handmade product! We love handmade, and we love the companies that practice it, so we felt right at home with Glenn and the team at Artrite. They do a lot of fine art screen printing for New Zealand artists like Dick Frizzell, Stanley Palmer, Michael Smithers and the late Don Binney. You can see some To View More >>

Modern cameras have sensors capable of producing big, beautiful images. They output files that can make large wall portraits without effort. But what happens when you want the image to be smaller, as in an album? What happens when you downsize a file that's big enough to print a large wall portrait, to create a 3x2" image on a page layout? When you export your images from Photojunction for printing, the software runs an automatic Photoshop process that resizes them and places them into a PSD file. The images are enlarged or reduced, and positioned to suit how you want them to appear on the To View More >>

We’re truly grateful to the hundreds of photographers from around the world who took part in our Bragging Rights promotion. Here, in no particular order, are the people whose work we chose to celebrate the love and laughter, vibrant cultures, dramatic environments and compelling stories we see every day in the books and albums we make... Juras Duo Photography are a husband and wife team - Matas and Paulina Juras - based in Lithuania. Matas sent us two weddings. The first (above) is from a wedding in Sicily - the groom is French, the bride Lithuanian and they live in the Netherlands To View More >>

The weather might have been less than perfect, but the rain certainly didn’t damper Charla and Christopher’s wedding day (rain is actually considered good luck!). Their wedding took place at the beautiful Terry House located in Arkansas, in the US. Their 14x10H Overlay Matted album was designed by the Queensberry Design team and we think Amy Carper from Carper Creative has done a delightful job capturing Charla and Christopher’s special day. Their album starts with a Futura translucent title page. The paper stock chosen is Pearl Metallic - A warm To View More >>
After a little wedding invitation inspiration? From Mashable... "Two German geeks/gamers just upped the ante when it comes to wedding invitations. The pair programed two versions of a Mario-inspired 8-bit video game as their wedding invitations and sent them out to friends and family. Guests are challenged to beat the game should they wish to unlock the wedding details. Their video game wedding invitations — dubbed Incredible Adventure — also included some custom packaging and two different versions of the game so would-be guests could play as either the bride or the groom. We'd never been to Lyttelton until a couple of years ago. At school we'd all learnt it was Christchurch's port, but that didn't mean you had to visit. Now everyone knows it's at the epicentre of Christchurch's earthquake. The reason I did eventually visit Lyttelton was to catch up with Johannes van Kan and Jo Grams. It's a fabulous little town, with a nice traditional pub (you walk down the corridor to the bathroom, just like the old days), lots of local music, good restaurants, great coffee, a beautiful setting. And in centre of the town the original, often funky, sometimes beautiful, apparently To View More >>
